Experience

Western Auction has been in operation since 1983 and is fully licensed and bonded.

We conduct consignment and estate auctions twice a week-each Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at our own facility. We also regularly conduct special auctions on-site, at our auction facility, or at other locations in the region.

We are experienced in selling estates; furniture, fixtures and equipment; vehicles; construction equipment; farm machinery; office equipment; artwork; real property; firearms; coins; jewelry; antiques and general liquidations. We utilize live online bidding for many of our sales, which allows buyers from throughout the country to bid on each item.

Our family of auctioneers includes principal auctioneer David Zwonitzer, his father Mel Zwonitzer, Dave’s sons Daniel and Ty and Dave’s wife Kym. Together the family has over 80 years of combined experience.

Mel has served as an auctioneer for firms in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska since 1961, and has been an integral part of over 2000 individual auction sales. Dave has been the owner of Western Auction since 1983 and an auctioneer since 1976, when he purchased the original Mel’s Auction from his father. Dave is a twenty-nine year member of the National Auctioneers Association, is a past president and director of the Wyoming Auctioneers Association and has twice been named Wyoming Champion Auctioneer.

Daniel Zwonitzer and Ty Zwonitzer both returned to Cheyenne after college and assist with the semi weekly auctions and special sales. Ty also works full-time at the auction house as the auction manager.

We provide complete advertising services, all setup, display and pre-sale arrangements, and all necessary staff and services for conducting the actual auction.

At the end of each sale, we provide a complete computerized accounting of proceeds to our sellers.

We are fully committed to providing the best in asset disposition services.

Professional Service

In addition to all of the traditional services of full time auctioneers, we provide personal property appraisals, can arrange for moving and storage of items as needed and provide complete advertising services, from design and placement of display advertising to full service direct mail.

We maintain an extensive regional database of auction buyers for our auction direct mailings.
